The Glock 43X/48 Tall MagClam accepts the single stack polymer magazines used by the Glock 43X and Glock 48.
Retention is intentionally set fairly tight on all MagClams, and typically loosens slightly over the first month of use. It is also easily adjustable by replacing the shock cord side laces. We have extra 4mm shock cord available. Switching to 1/8″ shock cord will also lighten the retention.
Choosing a Short or Tall MagClam
The Short MagClams ride higher on the belt, making the magazine more accessible, but typically less comfortable and concealable. The Tall carriers ride lower on the belt. This makes them more concealable and comfortable, but the Short carriers may be slightly easier to draw from quickly. When in doubt, we recommend the Tall MagClam.
You may prefer a Short MagClam if you:
-Carry behind the hip
-Carry appendix, and don’t have a beer belly
-Want easier access to the magazine
You will likely prefer a Tall MagClam if you:
-Carry appendix
-Don’t have washboard abs
-Want a carrier that is more comfortable and concealable
Dummy Cord All The Things!
Like all MagClams, the Glock 43X/48 Tall comes equipped with a dummy cord retention system. Using the dummy cord loop, the MagClam is easy to secure anywhere along the belt. Mounting points, such as key rings, are also easy to add to the insides of vehicles and purses, and use with the dummy cord. The loop size all MagClams come equipped with is for a 1.5″ belt. If you wear a 1.75″ belt, however, you will need a larger dummy cord loop.
Using a dummy cord, the MagClam ALWAYS:
-Is exactly where you need it
-Moves with your body, comfortably
-Will release the magazine and stay secured to its mounting point during reloads
This MagClam includes a tie down point on the bottom, used to secure a magazine places other carriers can’t go! Mount a MagClam to MOLLE, drop leg platforms, as well as many other locations. For a more secure mounting solution, we also recommend replacing the stock dummy cord loop with paracord when using the tie down.
Please Note:
This MagClam will NOT fit double stack polymer magazines, such as those used in the Glock 19/17. It will also NOT fit Steel Single Stack 9mm magazines.
